Albino Platinum
Symphysodon sp.
Description
The Albino Platinum impresses with its nearly pure white-silvery body, combined with the characteristic red eyes of albinism.
🌍 Origin & History
The Albino Platinum combines the albino gene (red eyes, lack of melanin) with selection for a white-platinum body. It was created in specialized Asian and European fish farms.
Appearance
Uniform white-platinum or white-silvery body. Total lack of melanin — no visible bars or stripes. Intense red eyes (lack of melanin in the iris). Transparent fins with white edges. Round, symmetrical body.
🧬 Genetic background
The albino gene is recessive — it requires two carriers for expression. The Albino Platinum originates from the crossing of blue diamond albino lines with selection for total depigmentation and a white-platinum body.
