Santarém Wild is a phenotypic variable - each specimen is unique. From blue-turquoise hues to green-golden shades, with fine spots randomly distributed.
🌍 Origin & History
Santarém region, at the confluence of the Rio Tapajós and the Amazon (Pará, Brazil). Population exhibiting intermediate traits between Blue Discus and Green Discus.
Appearance
Body ranging from blue-turquoise to green-golden with fine horizontal lines and random small spots. A unique combination of Blue and Green. Nine vertical bars. Red eyes.
🧬 Genetic background
Local population of Symphysodon aequifasciatus with varied patterns - some specimens resemble Blue, while others have greenish shades. Sometimes considered a genetic transition zone.

Care
Standard for wild varieties. Soft, slightly acidic water. Slow acclimatization is recommended.
Breeding
Possible. The fry inherit the phenotypic variability of their parents.
